"STARS OF THE 60s" PLEDGE SOLID SUPPORTS FOR ANSON-ROA

The "Stars of the '60s" got together the other day to agree on a common objective of campaigning actively for KNP presidential candidate Fernando Poe Jr. and KNP senatorial bet Boots Anson-Roa.

Former President Joseph Estrada himself expressed oneness with the group in a message via a phone patch.

Among those present during the gathering were Susan Roces, Amalia Fuentes, Pilita Corrales, Robert Arevalo, Barbara Perez, Eddie Gutierrez, Annabel Rama and Pete Roa.

Over 200 celebrities showed up at the affair, which was enlivened with entertainment numbers by Pilita, Willie Nepomuceno, Ariel Ureta, Dingding Avanzado, Chiqui Roa, Robbie Puno and Ricky Davao.

"Perhaps, we will feel sad over the prospect of losing Boots in the industry with our solid support for her victory in the senatorial poll. But we know she will be playing a greater role for the people as a senator," said Estrada in his phone message.

Anson-Roa, a multi-awarded actress, had served as executive director of Mowelfund, a welfare organization of the entertainment industry, and as president of IBC-13 during Estrada's administration.

The former president believed the KNP senatorial bet will make it to the "magic 12" in the senatorial election not only because she is a popular and talented actress but also because of public admiration for her person and full potentials as a senator.

"We are all behind you and we will pray for your success in your bid for a Senate seat," Estrada told Anson-Roa.
