About Boots Anson-Roa
Boots Anson-Roa.. malinis ang pakatao, malinis na paglilingkod.
Boots Anson-Roa is the embodiment of a true Filipina-intelligent, articulate, loving, compassionate and modest.
Her off- and on-screen romance with Dance-o-Rama co-host Pete Roa was a closely followed "fairy tale" in the 1960's.
Boots, a Bicolana, and her husband Pete, a Mindanaoan, became successful both in their professional and family life.
They are blessed with four children.
Boots carries with her a wealth of experience both in the private and public service. She is one of the local cinema's
rare finds for her intelligence, acting skill, managerial ability and leadership.
She was among the few to win the Ten Outstanding Women in the Nation's Service award for mass media. She was named an
outstanding alumna of the University of the Philippines and was honored with lifetime achievement awards by FAMAS and
Star Awards, two prestigious award-giving bodies in the entertainment industry.
But nothing could be more fulfilling to her than being at one time adjudged, together with Pete, as "Outstanding
Parents of the Year" by the Gintong Ina Foundation.
In the government service, Boots had served as Press Attaché and Cultural Officer of the Philippine Embassy in
Washington D. C. and as Commissioner of the Commission on Population.
As President and General Manager of the Intercontinental Broadcasting Corporation, or IBC, Boots was credited with "rescuing"
the sequestered broadcast network from near bankruptcy.
Her deep sense of nationalism and intense dedication to public service earned her the chairmanship of the National
Commission for Culture and the Arts.
She also excelled as Executive Director of Mowelfund; Marketing Director of the Association of Philippine Physicians in America
and Mass Communications Professor in the University of the Philippines, Ateneo de Manila University and the De la Salle State
University.
If elected to the Senate, Boots' legislative program will center on family unity and strength. Parental responsibility, population
management and reproductive health, education, media responsibility, moral recovery, housing and poverty are the foremost areas of
her concern.
Si Boots ay malinis ang pakatao, malinis ang pamilya, malinis ang record at malinis ang konsensya. Samahan natin siyang makihamok
sa hangaring makamit ang malinis na paglilingkod, malinis na pamamahala at malinis na pulitika.
